I bought some sony noise canceling ear buds: MDR-NC22 [gizmodo] from Narita airport.. oh baby, these things are worth buying at twice the price (which they will be anywhere else but Japan SUCKAS!). but seriously, these are the new model and the remote is TINY (they used to have quite a large inline remote which turned me off, that and really bulky ear buds) they make light work cancelling out jet engines, traffic, babys crying, cabin anouncements (oops). grab yourself a pair if you can! unfortunately they are not yet avaliable outside of Japan, I tried to compare prices in Shipol airport but they only had the old style (and they were twice what I paid, suckas!)
but I am in Germany by now, get out of here! sonic in Europe.

today, I found this under the bridge in yoyogi park.
there used to be a big mess of tags, looks like someone got organised, it stands over 4 meters tall.
yoyogi park is organised in general. the buskers have white board placards from the parks commission and there was a flea market happening on the other side of this bridge. I remember the weekly free partys put on by "toGETher" used to be awesome, nothing like a free techno party to blow of some steam after slogging it hard paying rent all week. I am a big fan of the community of the park, its what I imagine new yorks central park might be like, a vestige of possibilities on the worst of days.
after lunch, went back to the mori building and mori art museum in roppongi hills, they always have huge budgets and the upper gallery is so humongous, you might forget you are on the 53rd floor. roppongi hills is a haven of good design and style (lots of money), an oasis in Tokyo, as most japanese design (advertising) is pretty damn awful. roppongi always confused me, it is home to both the trashiest foreigners, some of the seediest bars and some of the richest japanese aristocrats and celebrities, most expensive stores and restaurants.
I'm sure it has a unique history, if anyone I knew here could remember it.
all the food has been, of course, well worth mentioning (>_<)!!!
after a long hiatus, I am back in Tokyo. for 2 days :P 懐かしいね
on the airport shuttle bus to Shinjuku I realised that this is not going to be long enough. Alot has remained unchanged, and it still smells like Japan. everyone still looks at me! (it makes you keep checking your fly and your face in the mirror) but something unseen is very different this time. it could be me...
I was going to do a short video around my old town but we shall see how we go, I have alot to do and buy. I am about to go to Harajuku to get some winter fashions to be extra glam in Germany.
after a long hiatus, I am back online with a new site theme, new city and a new blog..
and to kick things off in Australia, I made a new photo section and have put up a compilation of all the Tokyo timelapse clips and set it to music (music chosen and provided by mister wrigley)
Had a going away party on Friday night and got very drunk, also caught up with friends from australia who were here on holidays which was good.
Went to WOMB in shibuya last night with the hope of seeing ken ishii but my friend forgot her ID so we couldn't get in! not to be discouraged that easily we walked across yoyogi park and caught a taxi to kabuki cho.. unfortunately LIQUID ROOM was having a DUB night, so we went to an english pub, had a larger and some chips, then hit club CODE.. well it was FULL of "GARU" and the male equivalent I dont even think they have a name.. it was like the alba rosa club OMG and the music had been transformed into pop-neo-90's-happyhardcore and when a song that everyone knew came on they CHEERED IN UNISON, it was like the ecstasy revolution all over again! and on that note it was very cute.. we danced like wild night jaguars made extraordinarily perverse by being surrounded by drunk white playboy bunnies and bunnyettes.
after that finished in the abrupt 5am-on-the-button fashion adopted by many japanese clubs we stumbled about shinjuku and found the donkyhote warehouse (a large discount store) so we went shopping and got many cheap food.. the dried squid being the riskiest, I didn't like the idea of buying steak from donkyhote so we grabbed some futomaki breakfast at a korean restaurant and then walked back home :P
This is the beginning of the end for my working holiday and so far its been a wild ride (see below)
cool linus quote - "If Darl McBride was in charge, he'd probably make marriage unconstitutional too, since clearly it de-emphasizes the commercial nature of normal human interaction, and probably is a major impediment to the commercial growth of prostitution"
the other day and they are cool! I wore them to work today and the sound quality is excellent, the only problem is my ears got cold because I am used to wearing
